Lance is a local artist living in Denver, Colorado. Oil paint is his primary medium. Recent series involves studying concrete and urban scenes. Upcoming exhibition entitled “Prairies and Pastures” explores the intersection between natural and human made landscapes
Artist’s Statement
"Landscapes are a driving theme in my painting. Composition, value, and lighting inspire and challenge my artistic process. I strive to capture brilliant colors and captivating perspective, but just as fascinating to me is examining the ordinary and creating a picture consisting of dull light or unsaturated colors and a candid composition. I occasionally enjoy venturing into the abstract and surreal, relying on simplification and introducing previously unrealized elements of a scene."
