Lance is a local artist living in Denver, Colorado. Painting and photography are his passion during his free time, along with enjoying outdoor life in Colorado. Originally from Texas, he is influenced by music and visual art deriving from the Texas Hill country and West Texas areas, but more recently Denver and Colorado. His most recent series involves studying concrete and urban scenes.
Artist’s Statement
"Landscapes are a driving theme in my painting. Composition, value, and lighting inspire and challenge my artistic process. I strive to capture brilliant colors and captivating perspective, but just as fascinating to me is examining the ordinary and creating a picture consisting of dull light or unsaturated colors and a candid composition. I occasionally enjoy venturing into the abstract and surreal, relying on simplification and introducing previously unrealized elements of a scene."
